Welcome to AMOJA FESTIVAL 2022

 We are five QBIPOC-LGBT+ community activists who love music, poetry, camping and our 🌈🤟🏽folx. 

We came together with a clear vision to create a space dedicated to and centering BIPOC-LGBTQ2S+ folx. 

Our common experiences in white-centered spaces left us yearning for a new thing. One that catered to our specific needs and would bring us back together more healed than when we left. We have set our focus restoring community care and human-ecological relationships, and generating cultural vibrancy. Camping under the Milky Way in Michigan we will walk toward healing and liberation together.

We are a one-of-a kind healing retreat created for and run by Queer Black, Indigenous, People of Color.

We’re inviting dreamers, boots on the ground folx, builders, imaginers, nurturers, healers, self-lovers of Queer Black, Indigenous, People of Color to join us for this celebratory gathering.

We give honor to our ancestor Amoja Three Rivers founder of Michfest WOC tent and author of Cultural Etiquette.

Thank you to our BIPOC-LGBTQ2S Fabulous Ancestors who paved safer passage for us that we may heal, educate and grow our village together.

What is Amoja Festival? 

Amoja means immeasurable and innumerable.

It's your four days of taking a deep breath, putting the walls down, workshops to recover our blacque happiness, pee your pants laughing so hard type rejuvenation, healing campfire poetry, song on your heart share it at dinner, shedding the soul conversations, peace of mind restoration, and playing at one of several beaches near by.

We are an inclusive intersectional feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression, sex positive space for all of our bodies, abilities, sexualities and lifestyles. 

We invite you in all the ways that we unfold and all the ways that we land. We offer permission to you in all the ways that we show up and all the ways we are meant to expand.  The festival's mission is to building safer spaces to bridge our community back to nature. Back to the great outdoors.  Workshops, Music, Food and fun for us by us. Join us.
